This book is dazzling. Every page contains a lovely picture and uplifting quotes about hope. This book everyone should own. Why might you ask? Every individual on this planet is in need of hope. There will be a quote that will have a positive influence on you. One of the great things is the quotes are by people of all types from all around the world and multiple eras. Quotes are from authors, theologists, philosophers, leaders, chemists and many more. Here are a few people that I found intriguing in the book: Tom Bodett, you know him, "I'm Tom Bodett for Motel 6, and we'll leave the lights on for you"; Emma Goodman an anarchist known for her political activism; Madeleine L'Engle, who wrote A Wrinkle in Time; Napoleon; Earvin "Magic" Johnson; and also Robert H. Goddard, who built the world's 1st liquid-fueled rocket. The book is broken down into sections for example happiness, optimism, purpose, etc. Hope Quotes is the kind of book that you need in paperback. It is so stunning to the eye an e-reader would not do this book justice. It is the perfect gift to give any person of any age. In the beginning, it contains an excellent area to write to whom you are gifting the book and an area to place your name also.  

I would recommend this book to anyone.

UNPLANNED

BOOK REVIEW

Unplanned is an incredibly written Christian suspense novel. The book's theme is pro-life and being that I am pro-choice it did not have any bearing on the quality of the book for me. Kennedy comes back to the states to attend Harvard after spending 10 years living abroad in Yanji China with her family. She soon finds herself in a terrifying situation. Kennedy volunteers to take the new pregnancy centers hotline phone for the weekend helping out the pastor who is a family friend. Her first night assisting, she gets an extremely disturbing call on the hotline phone. Kennedy cannot get the details of the call off of her mind. She begins to sleuth around trying to find out all she can about the situation at hand. I do not want to say much more or I will ruin the book but, it gives you a little to chew on. Did this situation change the way Kennedy looked at abortion as always an atrocious thing? Who called the hotline and what caused the call to be so disturbing? You will now have to read the book to find out.
I found this book to actually be a light read even though it deals with atrocious situations. The book is very well written. Unplanned will keep you on the edge of your seat with the captivating plot. If you are pro-choice do not overlook it thinking that this is not a book for you. It will make you think. I hope that this book changes minds of people who think that abortion is wrong in every case. This would be a good read for young adults to the elderly.
To everyone who is reading this you have to look through the eyes of the person dealing with the difficult decision of abortion. In some situations what is right for you might not be the right thing for them. What if the woman is homeless and raped, will you take her and the baby in? Feed them, clothe them, protect them? know matter what you think it is never an easy situation.

• I started writing Unplanned at 12:15 am on January 1, 2015. The neighbor’s fireworks helped keep me awake. 

• The first draft of Unplanned was completed in three weeks. 

• About fifteen percent of Unplanned was composed on my dictation program, where I spoke the words out loud and the computer transcribed them. It had more errors to correct but was easier on my eyes and wrists than typing.  

• My research for Unplanned included interviews with an OB nurse, a crisis pregnancy center director, an EMT, and an FBI field agent who’s acted in hostage rescues like Kennedy’s.  

• I went to college just outside of Boston, near where Kennedy studies. 

• Like Kennedy, I was also a premed student. When I took the MCAT I scored higher on the writing section than on biology. 

• I have read Crime and Punishment three times, once in high school, once in my college Russian lit class, and once after I graduated. 

• Twelfth Night is my favorite Shakespeare play.

Your Averaged Joe is a novella that makes you think. The novella has a great depth even for how short it is. However for me it is not just sci-fi, but also metaphysical making the reader think about what reality actually is. Who is your average Joe? Everybody is just a basic human making us all an average Joe. Who is to say one person is more special to another? This is what I took away from the story. You will read this story multiple times. Taking in something new with every read. Even if you are not a sci-fi reader take a chance with this novella. It will make you ponder your existence as you know it.

REVIEW 

Oh, what a read! Swordfish contained everything I love in a book. I slowed down my reading and let myself relish every part of it. Assuming you have read the description of the book already I will skip that part.  It must be said that Swordfish's description is a minuscule of what the book is about. I will give away a little bit for you to chew on. Will Finn find a cure for Balor before it eliminates mankind. Does Cassie find what she needs  to heal? Can a hardened P.I. find love? If nothing else you have to read Swordfish to find out who all the Zuckermans are. What I will tell you is that you will go through so many emotions. You will feel terror, be on the edge of your seat in suspense, producing high heart rates from high grade action, you will shed tears, and  be filled with happiness. The book's prose is immaculate. Not a flaw that I could find. This is one impeccable book.  

Swordfish is listed in lesbian genre. It should not be limited to that. Anyone who loves thrillers and action packed novels will love this book. Do not let the word lesbian get in your way of an absolutely amazing novel. Yes, there is a minor part containing same sex love making. It is a beautiful part of the book.

He WANTED the MOON

I was excited to read He Wanted the Moon based on its intriguing description. Dr. Baird a physician in the 1920's and 1930's was trying to prove that there is a biochemical component to manic depression and during this time he began to suffer from the disease himself. The description also explained of how he had a lobotomy and other extreme medical procedures while under treatment. Dr. Baird was institutionalized many times and I thought how interesting it would be to read about the doctor actually being the patient in this scenario and how he would handle these situations. It was highly disappointing the book was nothing like it is depicted. The book essentially just stated about Dr. Baird's day to day activities that consisted of sitting around and talking to other patients and his never ending thoughts. Any extreme treatments like his lobotomy are only vaguely mentioned at the end of the book. I expected the medical treatments to be major parts of the book as they should have been. This read was repetitive and tedious. I felt disillusioned by an author who described such a captivating novel, but all I got as a reader was a calamity of a read.
